1958 Oldsmobile Super 88 Coupe Dealer Light Box Transparency.
Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This transparency was mounted in a light box that would be displayed in an Oldsmobile dealer showroom to advertise the new car models. The back lighting results in a vibrantly colored image of the model being advertised. Now rare to find, these transparencies were changed out every model year and were often thrown away or lost to time. These are fine examples of mid-century photography, industrial and advertising art. This transparency measures approx. 21"x16.5". These need to be mounted in a light box to be truly appreciated. This is an outstanding example of late 1950's automobile design and advertising...absolutely gorgeous!
This transparency is in what I would call 'very good +' condition with no tears or creases in the image area. Very minor surface scuffs/scratching and there are pin holes in the outer corners. There is one small imperfection in the top right outer corner that I do not think will be noticed when mounted (see photos). The color is very good and this example will display beautifully when properly mounted and back lit.
