Add Me to Your Favorite SellersOlivia's Vintage would like to present this Gibson SG Standard that originally was a 1963 model that was returned to the Gibson factory around 1970 where the neck and body was replaced with the current version of the SG Standard with the large pickguard. The original 1963 serial number was re-stamped in the back of the headstock while the original parts were installed on this 1971 SG neck + body. They include single-line Kluson Deluxe tuning keys, original '63 Les Paul engraved truss rod cover, nickel plated covers with unbroken solder on the original Patent # sticker pickups, nickel plated no-wire ABR-1 bridge (two non-original saddles), nickel plated Lyre Vibrato and original controls with pots dating to the 20th week of 1963. It has a great playing neck with great frets. The original chipboard case is included. This SG looks great with a few nicks + dings, extremely minor finish checking and other cosmetic wear including impressions in the finish on the back of the body left from an old curly guitar cord resting underneath the guitar while stored in its case. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. All electronics work and sound great as it provides an authentic '63 SG Standard tone with the rare combination of the large SG pickguard look.
