    Description

2 - CAMBRIDGE GLASS CAPRICE CRYSTAL DIVIDED # 94 NUT DISH OPEN SALT CELLAR DIP
Please Note: This item is now free shipping!!!
These little pieces were made by the Cambridge Glass Company, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio.
They are made in a crystal or clear colored glass.
The cupped one has been factory ground & polished on the foot (an immediate indication that it is an original Cambridge Glass piece) so it sits level.
The flattened on is not factory ground but due to the length of time I have owned it could be nothing else but Cambridge Glass.
These are high quality hand-made and American made piece of elegant glass.
Specifically these are the Cambridge Glass Caprice Pattern # 94 2-1/2 in. 2 Part Ind. Nut Dish.
It is pictured on page 120 of the book
    Cambridge Caprice
edited by Mark Nye for the National Cambridge Collectors Inc.
According to this book this piece was produced by Cambridge Glass during the period from 1936 to 1945.
I listed these two pieces together because they illustrate the amount of variation there can be between pieces of handmade glass of this era.
When I was actively collecting Caprice I was a sucker for anything different, like these two pieces, and just felt they should stay together.
These pieces have been in my personal collection since the 1980s.
I am in the process of selling off this collection that at one time consisted of over 600 unique pieces of Caprice.
These little nut dishes make a wonderful addition to a salt dip collection or would make an excellent collection all their own.
I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.
Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.
However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.
I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.
    Age and Condition
    These date to circa 1936-1945.
Both are in excellent original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, repairs, cracks or hairlines to the glass.
Please keep in mind these photos can be blown up at least 8X-10X times normal, so anything you see will look 8X-10X times larger than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
    Approximate Dimensions
The cupped piece is about 3.375” (8.6 cm) across the handles by about 2.375” (6 cm) wide and sits about 1” (2.5 cm) off the table.
The more flattened shape is about 3.625” (9.2 cm) across the handles by about 2.875” (7.3 cm) wide and sits about .75” (1.9 cm) off the table.
    Approximate Weight
About 4.625 ounces (131 grams) for the pair.
    SALES TAX
