Up for sale, a 2017 Gibson Flying V T in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An uncommon limited run model with a pair of Gibson's lauded Dirty Fingers humbuckers, this guitar boasts a gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish.
Tonewoods include a solid mahogany body and neck capped with a grenadillo fingerboard. The pickups capture the sonic signature of Gibson's original Dirty Fingers humbuckers of the 1980s, delivering strong output, exceptional clarity, and a wide tonal range. Each position on the three-way toggle offers aggression and punch, with more growl and cut in the bridge position, and superior warmth and breadth when toggled to the neck position humbucker. At 7lbs 2oz, this V is notably lightweight, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender SlimTaper 60s-style C-shaped profile carve with round, inviting shoulders that provide a feel both fast and substantial, measuring .810" deep at the 1st fret and .850" at the 12th. On the grenadillo fretboard, the stock frets are flawless and have plenty of meat and crown, just shy of medium jumbo in width. The guitar conforms to traditional Gibson spec with a 1 11/16" wide nut and 24 3/4" scale length. The headstock features Grover Rotomatic tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch reliably.
All of the electronics work as intended, with the Dirty Fingers humbuckers wired to individual Volume controls and a Master Tone knob. The wiring harness features Gibson-embossed Alpha pots. The hardware includes the Nashville bridge and corresponding stopbar with gleaming chrome plating, and the near mint plastics include the original pickguard trio of black reflector cap knobs. The Ebony gloss finish is exceedingly well-kept, with just a couple faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original black tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
