Antique Grand Tour Bronze Arc De Triumph, Paris Souvenir Building

Description

This is a very nice, very well-known replica of the Arc de Triumph in Paris made of bronze and seated on a black slate base.
The casting details are sharp and clear and while not signed, it has the right weigh, feel, and appearance of one of the better makers.
The roof is hinged to make a storage compartment likely used to hold a sealing wax stamp.
The bottom reveals hand cut square nuts used to secure it to the slate base.
I believe this was made circa 1850-1890’s.
This is a good opportunity to add a beautifully made piece to your desk top or display shelf.
The details are finely struck and they are in very good antique condition.
It is finished in a deep oiled bronze patina, and measures 4.5" tall x 5.25" wide x 4.25" deep.
It weighs just over 3 pounds.
The velvet liner inside the storage is in good condition and the chain barricade is complete. The only detractions that I notice are a chip on the base and a slight roll to one of the pediment corners.
There is minimal age appropriate ware, and it is otherwise in very good condition.
