an Antique porcelain Rosenthal / Tatler & Lawson
Congressional Library commemorative dinner plate.
Gilt in 22 karat Gold, enameled in Green with a
transfer image of the Thomas Jefferson Library
which was founded and opened in 1874. This
plate dates to 1904.
The
Thomas Jefferson Library
is so named after
him for his generous collection of books for which
The Congressional Library is built upon. We now
know this large Washington DC facility as the
Library of Congress, from which copyright is
founded, and a historical collection of artifacts.
This porcelain plate was made by Rosenthal and
decorated by Tatler & Lawson of Trenton, New Jersey.
The back is numbered 521 2 and bears both
the
Rosenthal and
Tatler & Lawson hallmarks.
Weighs 15.5 ounces.
Measurements:
10" in diameter,
1 and 1/8" in height.
