    Description

    c.1980 Hondo HM5E Mandolin:
This Mandolin was obtained at West Broadway, New York City antique shop in the early 1990's along with it's twin by a local collector.  These Mandolins were purchased by the store from the original owners estate.  The original owner was a long time, well known Busker who sat and played and sang every day across from Lincoln Center.  He played and sang old time songs like "Oh Susanna" and "You are My Sunshine".  He played this Mandolin for years and one of his fans bought him a second.  The other will remain in the collection but this one is for sale.
This solid body "F" style Mandolin has been played but appears to be in fine working order.  All electronics are working and the pots have been cleaned and are scratch free.  The neck looks straight and the truss rod is working.  The tuning machines feel good.  There is moderate fret wear but the instrument still plays true.  I am not a Mandolin player but I can tell you that this instrument will need a full set-up with new strings.
Please ask questions and i will do my best to answer them.
Guitars can experience changes due to temperature and humidity differences during shipping that may require minor adjustments.  In addition, I can not predict how you would like your instrument set up.  If you can not make these
adjustments yourself you should expect to incur the costs associated with having them done by a professional.
Please note that I sell predominantly pre-owned guitars. These are not personal instruments so, although they are inspected and tested, it is possible that I might miss a small nick or ding or, in the case of older guitar there may be just to many blems to photograph all of them. I will not be responsible for any shipping charges because you want to send the guitar back because you found a nick or ding that I did not describe or show in a photo.
