c.2007 Guitar Research Eddie Durham 100th Anniversary JX17N:This Left Handed Guitar Research Eddie Durham 100th Anniversary Electric Archtop Guitar is in super clean condition. Eduard "Eddie" Durham was the "Pioneer" of electric guitar, being the world's first ever to record a jazz electric guitar solo on a Gibson ES-150 guitar in 1938. He was also credited for his work with Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller and Count Basie, among others. He was born in 1906 and this collectible guitar was made in 2007 to celebrate the man who first recorded the electric archtop guitar.
This beauty features a 17" wide flamed maple body with heavy binding, large F holes, gold hardware, floating jazz mini-humbucker pickup with pickguard mounted controls on 100th Anniversary Engraved Tortoiseshell Pickguard, large ornate headstock with heavy bindings and pearl inlays, gold Grover Imperial style tuners, beautiful rosewood fretboard with MOP block inlays and Eddie Durham signature on 12th fret inlay, adjustable truss rod and adjustable rosewood bridge.
The Blonde finish is absolutely stunning and the top is very nicely flamed maple. The guitar has jumbo frets with no wear and a thin neck that is a joy to play and has been adjusted to play right. It is strung with flat wound 11-52 strings. The floating pickup sounds great and the controls work fine with very little noise from the pots. This guitar ships in a padded gig bag.
Guitars can experience slight changes during shipping that may require minor adjustments. In addition, I can not predict how you like your guitar set up. Be advised that minor adjustments or a set-up to your liking may be required and the costs associated with these adjustments should be expected.
Please note that I sell predominantly pre-owned guitars. These are not personal instruments so, although they are inspected and tested, it is possible that I might miss a small nick or ding or, in the case of older guitar there may be just to many blems to photograph all of them. I will not be responsible for any shipping charges because you want to send the guitar back because you found a nick or ding that I did not describe or show in a photo.
