CAMBRIDGE GLASS CAPRICE MOONLIGHT BLUE STERLING SILVER OVERLAY #130 LOW COMPORT
This piece was made by the Cambridge Glass Company, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio and is part of their Caprice pattern line.
This is a gorgeous piece of high quality hand-made and American made pressed elegant glass.
It is made in a pale blue colored glass that Cambridge called “Moonlight Blue”.
The piece is also decorated with a floral sterling silver overlay decoration of “fruit and berries” in four places inside the bowl.
The outer rim and the two handles are all done in sterling as well.
The sterling decoration is marked “STERLING” in two places that I can see.
I did give a bit of a polish to the sterling to show what it does look like when polished.
I am confident the sterling will polish up even better if you desire to do that.
This piece has been part of my personal collection since the 1980’s.
I am in the process of selling this collection that at one time consisted of over 600 unique pieces of Caprice.
You frequently see Crystal or clear colored Caprice with sterling overlay decoration but you seldom see the Moonlight Blue color with the sterling silver decoration.
Specifically, this is the Cambridge Glass Caprice Pattern # 130 - 7 in. Low Footed Comport.

According to this book this piece was produced by Cambridge Glass during the period from 1936 to 1958.
A beautiful and rare piece of elegant glass!

Age and Condition
The piece dates to circa 1936-1958.
It is in excellent to near mint original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs to the glass.
Only some minor tarnish to the silver and two places of extremely minor loss to the silver at the very tail end of two vines – see the photos.
Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
Approximate Dimensions
About 9.25” (23.5 cm) across the handles by about 7.25” (18.4 cm) in diameter and sits about 3” (7.6 cm) off the table.

About 1 pound 1.25 ounces (487 grams).

Shipment will be via the USPS.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
The only form of payment I accept from international buyers is Pay Pal.
No exceptions!
International shipments will encounter longer shipping times due to distance and Customs requirements.
The USPS says 6-10 business days, but it can take longer.
International buyers are responsible for all customs fees, duties, import taxes or other related customs or import charges and all our out of pocket costs incurred in the shipment of packages internationally.
International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.
DO NOT ask us to show a lesser value on the Customs Forms than the item sold for, or to ship the item purchased item as a gift.
