    Description

Vintage bronzed metal bookends in the shape of the First Church of Christ Scientist, known as the Mother Church of the Christian Science religion in Boston, Mass., made by Russell Wood Curtis of Arlington, California.
Each of these bookends is identical, depicting one half of the Church - when placed back to back, they form the entire Church building. They're cast in metal with a coppery bronze finish and excellent sharp detail all around, from the massive dome and lantern to the Romanesque Revival steeple. The backs are flat and are embossed by the maker "RUSSELL WOOD CURTIS - ARLINGTON, CALIFORNIA". One bottom still has the original green felt, the other is open.
When placed together they stand 7.5" tall by 6" wide by 5" deep, and weigh 5.5 lbs.
The First Church of Christ Scientist as depicted in these bookends was built from 1894 until 1906. Get these spectacular building bookends, which I believe were made in the 1950's, with your winning bid.
