Confederate Enfield Civil War bullet from Resaca

Description

.577 caliber original Civil War Enfield bullet recovered in the Resaca battlefield area on private property with permission. Comes with the label out of the old collection it was in.
Confederate soldiers used these types of bullets. This one has a pinhole casting void in the cavity which is why the soldier cast it aside as a “drop.” This hole could’ve caused the bullet to “blow thru” upon firing which could have in turn damaged his weapon or hurt himself.
