Up for sale is a vintage souvenir building promotional replica of the
First
Federal
Savings
& Loan Assoc. Bank of Detroit, MI.
Compare #950 in
Monumental Miniatures
and
also #862 in
Replica Buildings: A Visual History
(Merwine).
It measures 3 1/8" x 2 1/4" x 3" and is in excellent used condition.
It has a copper finish with a warm aged patina.
Along the base in the rear are the words: "
Accounts insured up to 00"
, which was changed in later versions to "Accounts insured up to 000".
The front has the name of the bank engraved on the base; one side reads Griswold at Lafayette; the other Detroit, Michigan.
The trap is intact, but it comes without a key.
Shipping includes insurance and signature tracking (to minimize the
possibility
of loss to 'porch pirates').
