Gibson Grabber G-3 Vintage Bass Guitar Natural 1974-75

Description

For sale is a 1974-75 Gibson Grabber G3 Electric bass in very good condition. All original and bad to the bone! This is a rare alder-body version of the Grabber G3 with the so-called "buck-and-a-half" trio of single coils. Quite a bit lighter (7lbs 14oz) than the more-common all-maple sibling that is a bit like your mammy's coffee table. Nut width is 1-5/8", fairly uniform and meaty C shape neck with a worn, satin texture. The top position of the three way switch puts the neck and middle pickup together for a humbucker effect, the middle position engages all three pickups, and the bottom position puts the middle and bridge pickup together for a humbucker effect as well. In good condition overall with some bumps and bruises mainly on the back of the neck and body, very little fretwear (see pics). This is maybe the best example of a mid-70s Grabber/Ripper we have yet to see in the shop. Don't sleep on this one!
