Grass 840-12 ZINC dye-cast hinge, in used condition. Totally cleaned, and lubricated.
These hinges come with the built-in mounting plate that creates an 1/2" overlay
Markings on hinge:   "GRASS", "Made in Austria", "840", "US PAT.NO 4.368.558" and "G*" and "840-12 zn" on the square plate.
Note: The bore distance on you door (the distance that the large hole is away from the edge of the door) determines the actual overlay. It could be probably +1/8 or -1/16 different than the intended 1/2", depending on your actual bore distance. A test block with 1/8" bore distance produces a little over 1/2" overlay (about 17/32").
If your hinge says "840-12" or "840-12 zn", then this is the hinge you need.
These hinges are no longer available from Grass or Grass distributors. Technical information on overlays for this hinge are no longer available.
