This has to be the most beautiful guitar I have ever owned! The guitar was made in 1979 in Japan by Fujigengakki who made many of the great Ibanez and Greco brand guitars of that era, both original designs and “inspired by” models like this one. This high quality take on the Gibson ES-345 has a gorgeous sunburst finish, flamed maple top (though apparently it is sycamore if you read the description online – see link below), ebony board with split block markers, 3-piece maple neck, and that cool retro 6-way varitone rotary switch. It’s a total looker!
It sounds very fine too, as you would expect, has a wide range of tones, and plays very nicely. All it needs is a fresh set of strings.
I bought this guitar in 2013 for around 00 from an eBay seller in Japan, seoul.tokyo who specializes in quality hollow and semi-hollow Japanese guitars, some relatively new but many from the golden era of Japanese guitar making in the late 1970s to early 1980s. The guitar was also listed on his website, sharpenedflat.com and the original listing (and more cool photos) can still be seen here:
    https://www.sharpenedflat.com/vintage-guitar/Greco-SA-800-0060/
The guitar appears to be 100% original, except for the oversized strap buttons I installed (the originals are in the case). The guitar comes with a fairly new SKB hardshell case for 335-style guitars, and will be carefully packed. It is in “closet classic” condition, with few signs of playing wear and no significant dings. The neck joint is rock solid, and (most importantly for Japanese guitars of this era), the binding is in excellent shape!
I am selling a bunch of gear which has been sitting in “temporary” air-conditioned storage for some time. Life happened, months turned into years, and I have reluctantly come to the acceptance that my dreams of becoming a rock star or first-call session ace are really quite unlikely
to happen now. So, I just don’t need all this gear; in fact, I probably never did! I have loads of cool stuff (too many amps, too many guitars, and way too many pedals!), and have been selling a lot of it over recent months. And there’s still more to come, so please take a look at my other listings.
