    Description

This auction is for a 1991 Heartfield Talon V electric guitar made by Fender.  This guitar is a product of the famous Fujigen factory in Japan.  This guitar is a 24 fret shredder!  It is in excellent condition and plays just fantastic!  Selling this guitar is one of the hardest decisions that I have made regarding guitars in quite some time.  But I have another obligation, so here it goes.  My loss is your gain!
The color is Montego black.  As you can see in the pictures, it appears to have some gold metal flake in the paint.
The Talon V has a basswood body, maple neck, dark rosewood fretboard, two DiMarzio humbuckers (H1 in the bridge and H3 in the neck position). Both of these pickups have an "F" on them, which indicates that they were made by Dimarzio for Fender.  There is also one Fender single coil pickup in the middle position.
This unit has a Floyd Rose "Pro" tremolo system.
It has a 24 fret neck with jumbo frets. The neck is a ultra slim "U" shape - a dream to play.  The radius is 17" (431.8 mm). The scale length is actually 25.5" (648 mm).
The sharkfin inlays are made of a flat metallic silver material. Also, there is a red accent to the upper left of the sharkfin on the 12th and 24th frets.
There is a 5-way pickup switch, one volume control and a TBX tone control.
The switching and electronics work perfectly with no static in the pots or other extraneous noise / issues.
The guitar has GOTOH tuners and a locking nut at the top of the neck.
This guitar is set up beautifully.  The neck is as straight as an arrow.  This guitar shreds like butta!  The bridge humbucker is clear and will cut through any mix.  I REALLY hate to give this one up!  But I am a tinkerer and this guitar deserves to stay in its original condition.  There are no modifications made to this guitar.
I have done the following to this guitar, as it needed a little TLC when I got it.
The tremolo bar is Floyd Rose brand and brand new.
The three locking nut blocks are new Floyd Rose brand units.
There are three new Floyd Rose Brand string blocks in the Floyd Rose bridge.  There were three missing when I got the guitar.  So the top three string blocks are original and have a slight bevel on the bottom side.  The new ones do not have the same bevel, but they work just fine.
The tremolo cover is brand new.
There is one fine tuner (on the high E string) that is not the tall-headed one like the rest are.  This vintage part is very hard to find, so I ordered some new ones so that I could get all of them tall, but the new, taller headed ones have a thicker thread, so I am going to leave well enough alone.  The smaller headed one does its job just fine.
The neck is incredible!  There is virtually no fret wear on the "cowboy chord" frets, or anywhere else.  The neck is straight as an arrow.  The back of the neck is surprisingly clean, with only one very minor indention in the finish - would never see it if not looking for it.  The frets play crisply all the way up and down the neck on every string.  The action is incredible.
The finish on the top and back look pretty darn good.  There are three dings that broke off the finish - one on the top side edge, one on the bottom side edge and one right on the input jack.  Not bad for a guitar that is just over 30 years old.  There is a finish abrasion on the body right above the pickguard when you are playing it.  It could possibly be sanded and buffed out, but I am not doing any surface modifications to this guitar.  There is also a finish abrasion on the inner side of the upper horn.  Again, this could probably be wet-sanded and buffed out.  The neck pocket looks great.  There are only light (1/4" or less) finish cracks in the corners on either side of the neck pocket.
This guitar comes in a Heartfield hard shell case that is in excellent condition.  All of the hinges and latches work as expected - no issues whatsoever.  The fur inside is very clean with no wear or rough spots.
This guitar weighs in at 6 pounds.  Light and comfortable to play.
These guitar are getting rare and hard to find in good shape.  Grab this one before it gets away!
This guitar sells to the contiguous US only.
