    Description

    RARE OFFERING Employee badge from the prime contractor in charge of the construction of the HoverDam project, circa 1930's - SIX COMPANIES INCORPORATED .  BADGE SIZE: 1-3/4 inch diameter - brass metal, pin closure is missing. Construction began July 1940 and completed December 1944 UNITED STATES government funded.  Hover Dam is located in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, between Nevada and Arizona.  Dedicated by President Roosevelt on September 30, 1935.  Construction provided many jobs during the Great Depression.  Also known as the Boulder Dam.
