Description
For sale for replacement, restoration, or upgrade is the cast ironcentral clock tower section of an antique Independence Hall souvenir building bank
.
Note: It is missing its top and has no base, as it would have fit into the pre-cast large base of the complete building.
That said, it is an extremely hard part to find and would be perfect as a replacement part for someone restoring the original bank.
Independence Hall bank was first made by the Enterprise Mfg Company and sold as a souvenir at the 1876 Centennial in Philadelphia.
There were two sizes -- see last photo.
This is from the larger of the two models and
is just the clock tower portion.
The 2 banks in the photo are for comparison only and not part of this sale.
It measures 6 3/4" in height on a 1 3/4" sq. base and is quite heavy, weighing approximately 1 lb. 6 oz.
It shows wear that is to be expected given its 100+ years of age and use.
Please refer to all of the photos as they are part of the description.
