As TV and radio broadcast needs grew in the United States we began to increase our capabilities my mounting antennas to our relatively new supply of skyscrapers.
Europe did not tend to have a supply of really tall structures and so the design and construction of TV towers began in the early 21
st
century.
With a height of 291 meters (955 feet), the Olympic Tower is Munich's tallest building and one of its most emblematic structures. As well as an observation deck, which offers bird's eye views over the Olympic Park and the city skyline from afar, the Olympiaturm has a revolving restaurant.
This replica souvenir was made of Steel and finished in a copper patina.
I am told these wonderful copies are often required product from students of architecture and especially apprentice machinists.
A great many of them have been produced that are essentially one of a kind art objects.
For me the models are the epitome of Midcentury Design.
It measures 15.5” tall by 3.75” in diameter.
This “home defense” worthy monster weighs in at 6.5 pounds!

There is a slight bend to the towers pinnacle and minimal age appropriate ware; it is in very good vintage condition.
