    Description

PERFECT CAMBRIDGE GLASS CAPRICE AMBER # 345 5-1/2” VARIANT VASE ELEGANT
This is a gorgeous blown Cambridge Glass vase made in the Caprice pattern.
It was made by the Cambridge Glass Company, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio and is part of their Caprice pattern line.
This is made in Cambridge’s Amber colored glass.
This piece has been a part of my Caprice collection since the 1996.
I am in the process of selling off this collection that at one time consisted of over 600 unique pieces of Caprice.
With all the different sizes, shapes, colors, decorations and the plain and crimped top variations it is possible to amass a very large collection of these Caprice vases.
At one time there were over 100 different blown Caprice vases in my collection.
This is a high quality hand-made and American made piece of elegant glass.
It has a factory ground and polished rim and is a beautiful piece.
Specifically, this is the Cambridge Glass Caprice Pattern # 345 5 ½ in. vase, or a variant of it*.
This shape, with a crimped rim, is pictured on Page 149 of the book
    Cambridge Caprice
edited by Mark Nye for the National Cambridge Collectors Inc.
According to this book this item would have been made for only a very short time, from 1936 to the early 1940s.
This is the middle size of the three sizes that Cambridge made in this style vase.
*Note: this is a variant to the # 345 vase; this one has a straight across rim with no crimps.
See page 200 in this same book for photos of other vases done in this same manner.
    A beautiful and desirable piece!
I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.
Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.
However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.
I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.

    Age and Condition
The piece dates to circa 1940.
The vase is excellent mint condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, flea bites, repairs, cracks or hairlines.
The vase has no cloudiness and looks to me as though it was never used.
There are only some extremely light signs of use or wear to the underside of the foot where the piece sits that you would expect to see on a piece of glass of this age.
Please keep in mind the photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
    Approximate Dimensions
About 6” (15.2 cm) in diameter at the widest part and sits about 4.625” (11.7 cm) off the table at the top rim.
    Approximate Weight
    About 1 pound .5 ounce (469 grams).
    SALES TAX
I am required to charge 6.5% Ohio State Sales Tax on all purchases shipped to an address within the State of Ohio.

On heavier items I will also offer a less expensive option, if available.

The only form of payment I accept from international buyers is Pay Pal.

International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.
