RARE 1940s KATZENBURG & WARREN GOVERNORS PALACE WILLIAMSBURG WALLPAPER ROLL.Scarce roll of screen printed wallpaper by Katzenbach & Warren. The roll is from my wallpaper collection that I am parting out. The roll features the Governor’s Palace at Colonial Williamsburg. It is approximately 30 feet long by 22 1/2” wide. The colors are a soft grey with yellow, lavender grey, soft golden brown and white. This is probably the only roll of this in existence. It is numbered and titled. One side tear near the end does not go into the design and a 6” tear at the very top was not included in the measurement. Stunning, rare handmade paper. Fragile but stable. Handle and place with care. I am guessing that this was a paper that they offered in the Colonial Williamsburg Reproduction series that came out in the 1940s.
***I used a piece of acrylic to lay over WP to take a picture. It had mars on the surface ~~~paper is not stained or marred. Also, you will see canned light reflecting on a few of the pics.
