    Description

Neat and rare 1930s souvenir ticket stub for visiting Chicago's Board of Trade Building's Observatory. Great graphics of the building but a little funny note - they shaved down the size buildings on La Salle street to make the building look bigger!
The new building opened in 1930 and was Chicago's tallest building until 1965. About 5 years after losing this status, the Observatory was closed to the public.
There are a few things pointing to this being from the 1930s - no numbers on the ticket - this is quite odd even during this period and my guess it was something overlooked when first ordered. Plus, I did find a 1945 example with a price of 50 cents - this is priced 25 cents and would have been somewhat important to be relatively inexpensive due to the depression. It's rare so I don't have other examples to confirm a date but I'm pretty confident.
Excellent condition - no blemishes to speak of. Very well preserved.
Approximately 4-1/2" x 2-1/2"; thicker paper material with a matte finish. The back has no print.
