    Description

From campsites in and around Brandy Station, Va. ; dug by me on various locations (private properties) with permission. These bullets have not been cleaned. This set of 3 bullets includes:
    A  .58 caliber  Williams Cleaner 'type II'; a typical .58 caliber '3 - ringer'; & a .58 caliber 'pulled' / 'extracted' 3 - ringer.
A 'pulled' or 'extracted' bullet is a bullet that was loaded into the musket, then manually removed from the barrel using a ramrod attachment called a 'screw extractor'. Being threaded with a sharp point (similar to a wood screw), the soldier would 'screw' it down into the bullet, then be able to 'pull' the bullet back out of the barrel of the musket. This (of course) leaves a screw hole in the top of the bullet.
