    Description

    A souvenir model of the Tower of Empire from the Empire Exhibition held in Glasgow, Scotland c. 1938. This is 4 1/2" tall model made as an ashtray from Bakelite & has a mottled finish. Never used. The Tower of Empire was designed by Thomas Smith Tait, who was a prominent Scottish modernist architect.
    Mint Condition, some very minor black specks in the plastic. Reference book from the Wolfsonian museum, the version photographed has a broken finial. (Last photos.)
