    Description

    Designed and manufactured by Stangl Pottery located in Trenton, New Jersey, the Henpeck Stoby Mug was produced in 1974 and was assigned a pattern number of 1680 by Stangl. The hat is removable.  When the hat is turned upside down, it serves as a rest for cigarettes and as an ashtray.  The mug and the hat are tan in color with black, hand painted, underglaze accents. The base of the mug and the ashtray have the impresssed Stangl mark as well as 1680 for the pattern number.
    The mug with the hat measures approximately 6 and 3/8 inches in height.  The maximum width from the tip of the nose to the outside edge of the handle is approximately 5.5 inches.  At the top of the mug, the opening diameter is approximately 2.5 inches.  The diameter of the hat is approximately 4.5 inches.  Weight of the mug with the hat is approximately 1.54 pounds.
    Please see all 12 photographs as they are part of the description. The mug and the hat are in excellent condition. There are no chips, breaks, repairs, or crazing. The glaze is bright and shiny.  The bright white areas in the photos are from light reflections off of the glaze when the photographs were taken.
