Van Halen Striped Frankenstrat Relic ash body Guitar Frankenstein With Hardshell Case.
The Frankenstrat wasn’t just about painted stripes, yet that’s what most of the guitars on eBay focus on.
Ed’s Frankenstrat had an ASH body, which is dense and heavy. As does the guitar in this auction.
Ed’s pickup was attached to the body without springs, as does this.
Also included in this auction is the 1971 US quarter like the one Ed used to shim the Floyd Rose locking tremolo. Seymour Duncan pickup, official EVH D-Tuna. Hardshell case. Set up for 9 gauge strings and includes Allen wrench and holder and Schaller strap lock pins on guitar.
Guitar has been used live on stage for 10+ years and built for it.
None of us will ever sound exactly like Ed, but Ed’s tone was driven by an Ash body on all the songs that used a tremolo on the first album. Frankenstrat was not used on all the songs as so many have come to believe.
